Leighton Meester keeps it cute in these new shots for Herbal Essences.

The 24-year-old actress (in a blue Marc Jacobs outfit) is the brand’s global hair ambassador! She’ll be featured in magazines nationwide and on advertorials on HerbalEssences.com and Facebook.

“I’m so happy to be working with Herbal Essences,” Leighton said. “It’s important for me that I partnered with a brand that I do use every day and I trust and I love…I use it personally and I want to spread the word about it. Herbal Essences takes great care of my hair.”

After shooting scenes in Paris, the Gossip Girls returned home to New York — and a legion of fans. “Girls were screaming everywhere,” an onlooker tells TV Guide Magazine. “They had to close off the park just to shoot, and each actress had a bodyguard.”

This season, Blair (Leighton Meester) finds new drama after transferring to the prestigious Columbia University. “She makes a bid for Queen Bee and encounters a minion from the past,” Gossip Girl executive producer Stephanie Savage reveals to TV Guide Magazine. During filming, three of the multi-colored co-eds pictured appear to be wearing matching silver key necklaces. Fashion statement or secret sorority? “Blair’s quests for power are never simple,” says Savage. “And she encounters a new rival — someone who really is a force to be reckoned with.”

That rival, the character Juliet, is sure to be a challenge, as she’s played byMelrose Place vet Katie Cassidy. And yes, the rumors are true: Project Runway’sTim Gunn will be appearing on the show, but the show’s reps will only say that the fashion guru will be playing himself.

While we’re excited to shop for shoes, shoes, shoes (woman are eternally indebted to Roger Vivier for creating the stiletto heel) and pretty scents, we’re biting our nails anticipating what the five stylish young co-hosts will wear in an epic fashion face-off. While Fashion’s Night Out events are set to occur all over the world, New York City takes center-stage. Part of Roger Viver’s proceeds will benefit The New York City AIDS Fund in The New York Community Trust (and if you need another incentive, there are gifts with purchase!). If you’re looking to shake and shimmy on September 10th, there will also be a live French/American retro jazz band, BON MUSIQUE, performing. Leighton Meester is nothing like her on-screen character Blair Waldorf. They may both be gorgeous and sweet, but unlike her Upper East Side counterpart, who uses her charm to manipulate others, Meester is the real thing.

We caught up with the actress, popstar, and Herbal Essences ambassador recently to uncover a few more surprising facts.

She’s a hydration addict.
While Leighton lists sunscreen and an eyelash curler on her can’t-live-without beauty products list, it’s water that’s really got a hold on the actress-singer. “[Beauty] is all internal,” she says. “I love spray bottles of water, especially when I’m on the airplane or at work.” The starlet is also big on Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo as the base to her beautiful locks.

She’s a natural blonde.
“My hair is a dark blonde,” the current-brunette admits. “It’s brown for [Gossip Girl]. I’ve gone blonde a few times since I started the show for different movie projects and I got to go red.”

She has but one regret.
“Regrettably, for a long time I wasn’t as comfortable in my own skin, how I am naturally. Now I love the way I look without makeup and without my hair styled because I feel healthy and beautiful,” Meester explains.

Her love of fashion started young.
“Dressing my Barbies was the beginning I guess, but I also always loved watching my mom get ready and put on her makeup and clothes. I just thought it was really fascinating,” Meester reminisces. “She ended up giving me a bunch of her clothes when I was growing up and I wear them all the time. [My mom] was always very sexy and cool in her own skin and I admire her a lot.”

She doesn’t choose favourites.
“I don’t think I could choose just one [fashion label] that I love,” she admits. “The beauty of fashion is that you get to mix it up and try different things to change your look.”
