Mother-daughter relationships can be contentious enough on their own. Under the bright lights of Hollywood, they can turn downright destructive.

Latest example: “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester, who is suing her mom and ex-manager, Constance Meester, for custody of her younger brother after her mom allegedly spent money meant for her brother’s medical bills to pay for her own cosmetic surgery instead.

Meester filed the suit July 22 in Los Angeles, according to TMZ, which obtained the documents.

“Although [Constance Meester] is healthy and physically able to work, Constance refuses to do so,” the lawsuit says. “Instead, Constance expects her daughter to support her financially.”

TMZ reports that Leighton Meester sent her mom $7,500 a month to help pay for her brother Lex’s ongoing medical treatment. According to the suit, he has multiple health problems and is recovering from recent brain surgery.

But the 25-year-old “Country Strong” actress asserted that her mother spent the money on Botox, hair extensions, plastic surgery and other personal expenses.

Constance Meester, 55, claimed to TMZ that the monthly payments are part of a settlement for helping her daughter become successful. According to the suit, the mother maintains she had a verbal contract with Leighton Meester in which her daughter promised to give her $10,000 a month for the rest of her life. Leighton Meester has asked a judge to rule no such agreement exists.

Now, Constance Meester, who gave birth to her daughter while serving time in a federal prison for a drug smuggling conviction, is fighting back. She filed a countersuit Tuesday in which she alleged that her daughter repeatedly “hit her with a bottle” last December and was so crazed that her brother had to pull her off, TMZ reported.

Okay, CW lovers, are you ready for some juicy Gossip Girl news? Season 5 makes its debut Monday, September 26th at 8/7c. It brings with it French actress/model Roxane Mesquida. TV Line delivered the exclusive that the actress from Kaboom (where she is opposite the likes of Thomas Dekker, Juno Temple, Haley Bennett, and James Duval) is all set to portay Blair Waldorf’s (Leighton Meester) nemesis. Dun dun dun!

If you follow the series you know Blair is headed to the altar for her very own royal wedding. Well, Roxane is “the meddling sister of Blair’s fiancée, Prince Louis.” So, watch out! The role is a recurring one and TV Line also reminded us season 5 would be a series first. Why? Because Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr will be MIA.

We haven’t heard a whole lot of buzz following the new season of Gossip Girl (aside from the good word on its renewal). But you can take a trip down memory lane with these images from last season.

Will GG leave a void in your heart when it is cancelled? Well, maybe Ringer with Sarah Michelle Gellar can ease the parting blow. We hear it is coming to the network. Hart of Dixie will also be new to the CW.

Now it’s serious. Now I’m back! I have had a lot of school stuff keeping me away from my fansite. I am actually surprised that I still have the site – amazing host I may say!
I have still kept up with the pictures (saving them), but I haven’t had time to add them to the gallery. I will do that tonight (it’s currently 11:25 pm) and I plan up staying up most of the night to get everything back to normal.

For those who are reading this; thank you for still visiting the site or visiting the site, and I hope you’ll keep coming back for more updates!

We’ve been adoring fans of Jason Sudeikis for a long time—ever since he first appeared in the background of a “What’s Up With That?” sketch on “SNL,” doing what can only be described as The World’s Most Special Dance. But our love for Jason was also imbued with longing and sadness, because we could only ever see him a paltry once a week on NBC. But now that he’ll be hosting the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, Jason is popping up all over the place! All the time! It’s amazing! And as you can see in this promo video, you never know where he might appear next:

That’s leggy Leighton Meester in the dentist’s chair—no doubt prepping her pearly whites for this year’s awards, where she’s nominated for Best Villain. But that’s no dentist who’s dropping in for a visit; it’s Jason! He’s got charm, he’s got charisma, and…he’s got nitrous oxide. And he’s not afraid to use it.

“I’m having dinner with my folks tonight,” he explains. “Just need a little attitude adjustment!”

Hee! And clearly, Leighton’s giggly glee at meeting our host bodes well for the entertainment factor of the upcoming show. In fact, we might even say that this year’s MTV Movie Awards will be a total gas.

HAHA!
See what we did there?
Hey, stop hitting us!

Tune into the MTV Movie Awards on June 5 at 9/8 C.

I am back with a new layout, but school is taking a lot of my time, and when I have free/spare time, I sleep to get more energy. Sorry, but I just don’t have the time. Therefore I am thinking about getting some help, so if you are a Leighton Meester fan, then write a comment to this post!

I will update the gallery in the next few hours.

EXCLUSIVE: “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester is in talks to play Adam Sandler’s future daughter-in-law in the Columbia Pictures comedy “I Hate You, Dad” and rapper Vanilla Ice has also joined the cast in a supporting role.

Andy Samberg co-stars in the pic, which finds Sandler playing a father who moves in with his son and his fiancee, only to immediately start feuding with the bride-to-be.

Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, will play an old friend of Sandler’s character.

Sandler’s “Bulletproof” co-star James Caan is also in talks to play Meester’s tough-talking father.

“It was actually the most fun I had had on the show in a while,” Penn dished about his latest on-screen romance. “It was something new for my character, and I was having fun with the rapport, and I think my dialogue benefited from it. It was actually a lot of fun to work with Leighton. I hadn’t much. We were like the only two who had never really interacted.”

Well it seems they’ve quickly gone from 0 to 60 in the interacting department, and Penn admitted he’s not complaining. “It was great We all get along pretty impeccably, even after four years,” he shared. “I mean there are ups and downs, as there are in anything. It’s great. I’ve actually really enjoyed working with her.”

With Dan and Blair busy being Dair, what does that mean for his past ladies, like Serena and Vanessa? Well, he says, you’ll never believe what happens next. “I don’t know how much I can give away,” he teased. “It doesn’t end the way you think it does. I can’t say much.”

Critical Reviews

MSN:

But Feste makes everyone on-screen people — flawed, selfish, capable of cruelty and kindness. If McGraw were a car, he would have one gear, marked “stolid,” but that’s served him well on-screen before, and it does here. Meester turns what could have been a shallow joke into a person, and you believe both that Chiles has every idea of what she wants and no idea who Townes Van Zandt is.

“Country Strong” stumbles, and has some slack in its silences, but it takes its world, characters and songcraft seriously, so that while much of it is hard to remember after the sound of the guitar fades from your memory, some of it still sticks in your mind with simple strength and real feeling.

USA Today:

Meester also shows she can do more than play one of Gossip Girl’s privileged Manhattan socialite.

MetroMix:

McGraw and Meester provide fitting support as characters masking inner pain through devotion to their careers. [...] the story takes chances, the characters aren’t always predictable, the music is solid, and the setting and complicated female lead are welcome changes from the Hollywood norm…
